We are celebrating our own little Mom- Olympics in honor of this year’s Olympic Winter Games. I personally love the ice skating. I have learned to hold my breath through nearly an entire routine in fear of the poor participant falling on their bum.

We are tallying up points each day for household chores and general home paper pushing, like meal planning and paying the bills. Our points are our daily little mommy medals. I am aiming for at least 250 points each morning. This will be a snap because each Olympic Challenge listed below is worth 100 points!
Today we our focus is family. Family is the reason we try to finish our coffee before 6:30 am so that we can get our day planned and have a moment just to breathe before organized chaos takes over. Our challenges will encourage family time!
1. The kitchen table: Plan some time today to play a board game, make a craft or build a puzzle. This kind of family time gives you the opportunity to really get to know your children. When they are comfortably engrossed in play they are more likely to let you know exactly what is going on in their lives. 100 points plus fun points for having play time!

2. The 4-star family meal plan. Have each family member take a turn choosing one of the following:
- fruit for dessert
( you choose a healthy grain that is right for your family)
This encourages healthy eating and can really be fun when two items don’t normally pair well (for example pears and pickles) but are tasty just because we are enjoying special family time. 100 points.
3. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy- Spend 5 minutes rearranging or placing family photos so that your children have an eye-level opportunity to see them. Children always enjoy looking at photos, especially if it is an interesting photo of a special event from their lives. 100 points.
