Pam's Favorite Organizing Products

Hi Friends! I have been super busy deciding on a quick organizing fix for our pre-teen’s room and thought I would share my favorite organizing products. A couple of them are a MUST in my organzing and planning kit.  I hope you enjoy the list and please tell me in the comments what your favorite organizing products are for your home and office.

My Favorite Organizing Products

Handheld Label MakerI love this one   – DYMO LabelManager 160 Hand-Held Label Maker  – This handy organizing product is a perfect compact labeling tool that is easy on the budget and can be added to my office bag to take with me anywhere. I use it for file folders, labeling charging cables and kitchen and bathroom containers. Really the sky is the limit and it is so easy to change out batteries and printing tape.  I keep the clear tape that prints black and the white tape that prints black in my desk drawer at all times. I just love it!

Hanging Shelf OrganizerI love my newly organized closet – I have 3 shelf hangers and 6 shelf hangers and they both work great and are versatile enough to rearrange my closet organization set-up  at any time.  The 6 shelf can hold upt to 12 thick sweaters and the three shelf is perfect for large purses and bulky shoes. My favorite use for one of my closet hanging shelves is placing my workout shorts, shirt, socks and shoes on one shelf so that I can grab them and put them on first thing in the morning to get my minumum of 30 minutes of movement in  for the day.  I love the color of  six shelf hanging organizer and  this  three shelf hanging organizer.

Legal Pads – I keep 5 x 8 legal pads everywhere. You never know when you are going to need to remember something or come up with the greatest idea since sliced bread and peanut butter. Having a way to write things down so that you can get it out of your head is one of the best ideas I gathered from reading David Allen’s Getting Things Done book. Write it down, your brain already has so many things to remember that something is bound to be forgotten.  I keep a legal pad by my bed, in the drawer of the bathroom, my glove compartment, in the kitchen, the laundry room and near my treadmill.  They really are a key tool in keeping things out of my head and written down. When I write them down they either go in my pocket if I am on the way to the grocery store or straight into my Big Fat Inbox for adding to my daily, weekly or monthly to do list or long-term project list.

Letter Tray or My Big Fat Inbox – Every time I walk by my inbox I just have to smile. It might be a bit full at times but I know if something needs to get done that I have a system in place to make it happen. I do not know what I would do without it. Every thing I write on my 5 x 8 legal pads other than shopping lists goes directly into my inbox (letter tray).  If I need to charge my camera batteries… it goes in the inbox. If I my kids are out of printer ink or pencils they know to add the empties or a note directly to my inbox. It really is the biggest time  and sanity saver I have ever added to my office.  I have two letter trays stacked, the top is the inbox and the second hold blank file folders.  If just love this one but any old box will do.  Hey, curious why I call it my Big Fat Inbox – Click here to read the post which was reposted on David Allen’s GTD Blog!

Command Hooks – If you are not on team Command Hooks yet… just wait until you buy your first one!  You will never go back to using screws, unless you are trying to hang up a small car.  🙂

You can literally hang a command hook any place in your home as long as you follow the package instructions. I have used the white hooks to hang Christmas stockings on every single door of the house because they are easily removed. I have several of the heavy-duty metal ones hanging in closets and on the inside doors for backpacks and purses.  Just keep the weight range under the suggested limit and make sure to follow the directions on the package. This will take you to new organizing heights of awesome, I really mean it!  This one is my favorite.

  1. Thank you for link up Pam! I will vote on my favorite of your products and that is the Labeler. We own vacation rentals and they sleep 14 guests. Once the dishes are all out of the cabinets being used if I had not labeled every shelf and drawer what belongs there I could only expect a hodgepodge of pans, plates and pitchers all over the place. They truly help us stay on top of organization!

    1. That is awesome. I am seriously considering labeling all the drawers and things so my tween can put away my kitchen tools in the right drawers. Drive me nuts when I can’t find my tools.
Thanks for the awesome linkup party!
