Three Simple Tasks and an Iced Water

How will I get through this day? How will I get through this Month? How will I get through the Holidays? These are questions zipping around in my head today. They are causing noise and distracting me, turning me into a bonafide crazy momma. The best thing I know to get rid of the buzzing sound in my ears caused by too many commitments as busy WAHM schedule and the daily homework grind for Little Guy and the ever looming three month Holiday Bonanza is to sit down and write everything that is buzzing in my head in my (gasp) Paper Planner. This is my first step in my Three Simple Tasks today. I usually do this once a week to get my groove going and today is that day. Three Simple Tasks

    1. Write down everything that is buzzing around in my head so that I can actually move forward and accomplish a couple of items on my TODO lists.
    2. Tidy up the kitchen, so that we can have a home-cooked meal. This has to happen before I pick up Little Guy from school and the homework bonanza begins.
    3. Update my calendar.  I have a gut feeling the Little Guy starts tennis on Friday and I just changed computers so I can’t find the dates. ( Sad, but true)

When I get finished I am grabbing my current read and a big tall glass of ice water from my newly purchased Family Size Brita Filter. I finally broke down and bought another one because Little Guy was drinking heaps more water when he could open the fridge and pour some on his own. (perk) The old one was dropped and the top broke. Weird stuff ended up finding its way into the water cavity. I love Brita, I will not lie. Simple Daily Challenge: Write down on paper whatever is buzzing around in your head that may cause distractions. Then take a Momma  break if you can. If not then, play a board game with the little ones. Remember, you can only play Candyland 3 times in a row, any more and you will be destined for the Funny Farm.

  1. I think so Cyn. Its is big enough that I have no need to keep refilling every day. It can last two days easily or even three if the family is not around the house those days as much.

  2. Hi, I can really relate to the situation where you need to clean the kitchen and get dinner figured out BEFORE doing much of anything else. I have been focusing on that more than usual lately, and it has helped our home to be a happier place.

  3. Oh, and I have that same Brita filter. Very handy, nice size, and the kids enjoy drinking “filter water” as they call it.
