31 Day – Clutter Crusade Day 29 – Glove Box

How to declutter the glove box of your car.

Picture this… you are driving down a country road thinking there is not a soul around but you, the pavement and the sound of your tires on a joyful country drive. You come to a random 4-way stop and think, no biggie and kind of do what some folks call a California stop. You edge every so carelessly into the intersection and then you hear the sirens.Your joyful ride has come to a kind of depressing end. You will more than likely receive a ticket for your carelessness but all you can think about is this little phrase.

Can I actually find my registration and proof of insurance in the glovebox?

There is nothing more awkward than sifting through a mess of papers, hair ties, empty crayon boxes and half- used packs of chewing gum looking for those papers when an officer of the law is giving you that look.

The look of “don’t these moms ever clean out their cars?”

Today we are clearing out, decluttering and creating order in the glove box of our cars.

Let’s Begin:

  • Grab a small box and a trash bag.
  • Take everything out of the glove box place, trash in a trash bag as you go and all other items in the box.
  • When you are finished replace only items back into the glove box that are absolutely needed.

Here is my list.

  1. Registration papers.
  2. Proof of Insurance
  3. Small first aid kit.
  4. Small bag of personal care items in a sandwich sized Ziploc bag.
  5. One Flashlight- extra batteries.

Take the remaining items and put them where they belong in your home or another organized area of the car.

You are totally finished! Tomorrow we tackle kitchen utensils.
