Busiest Moms in the World Spring Clean Challenge Starts March 5

We are embarking on a great adventure. The Busiest Moms in the World Spring Clean Challenge!  I am always baffled by the scary checklists about Spring Cleaning so we are going to take this Spring Cleaning Challenge and turn it into bit-sized pieces.

If we miss a day no big deal. I mean the idea of cleaning everything that has gotten dirty in over a year is really kind of ridiculous, as super busy moms we just do what we can and by golly that is enough.

My biggest wish in this challenge is to have a home that is shinier, tidier and that smells pleasant. That seems simple enough, right?

General Overview of Challenge.

Each week we will fight clutter, organize when we can, and clean.  Our goal for each room is just to make it look and feel better than it did before we began and kick Penelope Perfect to the curb.

Penelope Perfect is my arch enemy and although she creeps into my psyche every once in a while I usually can put her in her place on truly important occasions. I think we all have a little Penelope Perfect deep down inside. She is a real monster, that girl, and not worth our time or happiness.

So, grab your buckets and rags and get ready for Monday, March 5, 2012.  We are going to have some fun and clean and organize a little bit on the way. Spring Cleaning should be joyful not scary.

Areas of focus for the next 30 days or so are listed below.

Entryway/Living Areas

Laundry Area

Kitchen

Bathrooms

Children’s Rooms

Master Bedroom

Bonus Rooms: Office or Extra Room – This will be posted as extras here and there through the week for working moms, moms that have play rooms or craft areas etc.

Every few days I will post before and afters of my progress and encourage you to do so as well on the Facebook Page or just by emailing a photo of your before and after progress. It does not need to be a whole room, just a little spot you are proud of and would like to share.

Come on Moms…. Let’s Rock the Spring Cleaning!

    Happy March!

    1. Lucky gal! I am going to start checking my groupons more closely. All I have seen lately are Tropical vacations and hair removal. lol

  2. If only housecleaning would keep still for one month at the time – All I have seen of Groupons is just about the same – massages at spa, manicure and that’s about it

    1. I know, I could use the manicure one though, but they are all about 20 miles away, so there went my savings in gas. lol

    1. I am not exactly a lover of cleaning. But I have found there is magic in numbers. When you have someone to chat with about homemaking it just seems a bit more interesting and fun. I meet with a few gals a couple of times per month and we talk about cooking, home maintenance and cleaning. We report to each other on a pretty regular basis and it truly helps.

  3. I know Jan, my hall closet has been waiting for Spring Cleaning for at least three Springs. lol

  4. The only thing I sometimes dread about cleaning my house is the knowledge that there is a very good possibility no one will be able to tell after about 24 hours, ha! I do try to keep things organized, but with 8 kids, I do have to let some things–sometimes a lot of things–go! 🙂

    1. I think all of us feel this way. But every once in a while I get this burst of energy to change things up a bit. My mom always said to keep a marriage happy you need to smile, laugh and do something to change your home up a bit to keep things interesting.

Spring cleaning is just an opportunity to recognize the change of season and deep clean a couple of things here and there that get left out in the hustle and bustle of every day life.

      Peace,
      Pam

  5. I made my spring check list the other day and suddenly got VERY overwhelmed. Time to break it down and conquer!
