Holiday Shine Challenge Day 9 – Bathrooms and Bedrooms

We are Fighting Clutter Crime by picking up and putting away 100 pieces of clutter or trash in 10 minutes!

What in the world is the crazy lady talking about?

FIGHTING CLUTTER CRIME

So simple! Today we will fight clutter in our home by setting our timers for 10 minutes and picking up and putting away as much clutter as we can. Our goal is 100!’
We are focusing this week on Bedroom and Bathrooms so I highly recommend some clutter crime fighting in those areas.

Ready Set Go!

Organizing Boost for the Bedrooms and Bathrooms for the Holidays

Now is a great time to grab a pen and notepad and zip through the bathroom and bedroom to take note of what items need to be replenished to make it all the way through the holidays and our children’s fall and winter break.

Items you may need for the bathroom:

Toilet Paper
Facial Tissues
Shampoo
Conditioner
Lotion
Toothpaste
Dental Floss
Make-up Remover
Razors
Toothbrushes (for your family and guests)

Tip: I always add razors for the older guys in my house and cute toothbrushes for the little ones in the Christmas Stockings.  Our stockings always have one fun item, one item to read, a few useful things and fruit and nuts decorated with one candy cane that hardly ever gets eaten.

For the bedroom, just check to make sure you have clean bed sheets and towels if you plan to have overnight guests during the holidays. A couple of festive hand towels are nice but not necessary and a small gift basket of toiletries or magazines is always fun.

My southern heritage has always encouraged me to make sure my guests have everything that could possibly need so that they feel at home.  The only thing I have ever been asked for that I did not have on hand was a cigar.  I now have a cigar in my freezer, of course, I have no idea if you can actually freeze cigars because I do not partake.  I am sure a few seconds in the microwave will freshen that stogie up quite nicely. ( you know I jest, I would not put a cigar in the microwave, I would thaw it out at room temperature like everyone else. 🙂

So you all tomorrow!  Happy Holiday Shining!

  1. I wish I was following you when I had my daughter at home. The Stocking stuffers are such a good idea!! Now the cigar, I giggled. In the freezer. Never would have thought about that.

  2. Great ideas Pam. I get spinny putting things away ALL THE TIME!!!! So now I do it in counts of 20, put 20 items away make the bed, put 20 items away, put on laundry, put 20 items away………. Housework is never thrilling but counting the items makes me feel like I have accomplished something.

Counting a hundred things in ten minutes would make a massive impact on your home in not time… well I guess in 10 minutes. Terrific and practical.
