July Favorites – Travel Gadgets and Beauty Items

July Favorites – Travel Gadgets and Beauty Items – I am excited to start a new trend on the blog, July Favorites!  Toward the end of each month, I will share what really worked for me as a busy mom and working woman.  This month’s favorites is all about travel. What worked in my suitcase and what didn’t.  I travel quite a bit during the summer to see grandparents and we try to do one family trip a year that is filled with “educational experiences” and tons of fun. This year we went to Hawaii! It was a big dream of ours and we had a great time.My husband and I both bring work with us wherever we go, in most cases it is just for emergencies or if we need to send large files quickly. This year, with extra travel, I am actually working two days on my trip home to see my parents.  My laptop is awesome, however, the screen is too small for design work. My first July favorite is this awesome auxiliary travel monitor.

It takes a little bit of patience to get used to your mouse swinging over to another screen, but the display is really good and you can really view PDF in full color and are able to copy and paste without switching from screen to screen on the laptop.

My next travel favorite was this really neat Bluetooth Wireless Camera Remote. My husband and I are not what you would refer to as part of the “selfie” age.  We love having photos of the kids and family, but really only have a hand full of photos of each other. We vowed this year to take at least two photos per trip with just the two of us.  And this little gadget works great and really helped our “selfie” learning journey.

Next, a little basic black light weight dress, that can go anywhere. This worked great for day trips and going out at night and was a total bargain. I wore it with a Jean Jacket and sandals. So easy! The best part it took little room in the suitcase.

Really simple light weight dress that can be fine for a day trip or evening out.

I have found in plan travel and restaurants that the chill factor is either mild, warm, or arctic cold. I pack a jean jacket in my bag just for these occasions. This LLBean jacket came in so many neat shades, but I chose traditional washed out blue and wear it all the time. So much in fact that I bought a spare to keep in my husband’s car. He is really nice about running to the car if it gets cold outside or if we are having a night out or shopping. 🙂

What do humidity and sappy chick flicks have common?  They both make my mascara run! I went straight to the most knowledgeable person I could find at Sephora and begged for all her mascara secrets and this was her best recommendation for my tears, sweat, and (gasp) age!  MAKE UP FOR EVERAqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner!!!!

And my last but most favorite of all is my go to pampering body butter in yummy citrus scent. It is the SATSUMA BODY BUTTER by THE BODY SHOP  and it comes in an awesome travel size. It smells just lie a freshly peeled orange and keeps your skin super moist. (In my very own, humble, opinion) . But seriously it smells so good, like an Organge Creamsicle. THE BODY SHOP TRAVEL SIZE SATSUMA BODY BUTTER

When you travel and work while traveling you have to make packing allowances for items like your Imac or laptop and other gadgets like my super awesome new travel monitor. So it is super important to pack a few things that just make you feel good, like the yummy Satsuma Body Butter from the Body Shop.  These little things are what make travel so awesome.

What are your favorite travel tools and/or pampering items?
