Tell us about your blog:

Mommacan.com is a blog dedicated to sharing ideas for home organization, cooking, decorating and cleaning so that busy moms can streamline their lives and get things done more efficiently, on a budget, yet beautifully.

What inspired you to start your blog?

I was taking a break from work and needed a creative outlet. ( I should add, I had a surprise baby) Notice the age gap in photo below.

What do you do in your spare time?

I volunteer at my son’s school in the library and am a Vincentian. I work with an excellent group of people who devote time to helping those in need, especially the poor, the homeless and anyone needing a good listening ear when they are going through a rough time.

What is your favorite food or beverage?

Hmm, this is a tough one. I am a total foodie. But if you put me in front of a buffet of everything I would probably look for shrimp and grits. I know it is not the typical got to food, but I seek a new restaurant every year for my birthday to try their shrimp and grits. My most recent shrimp and grits adventure was at the Black Bottom Southern Cafe in Los Angeles, California. It was delicious! There is just something comforting about creamy grits and tender shrimp; it was always my go to childhood treat for special occasions.

Tell us about your proudest achievement?

My most spectacular achievement hand down is my children!  Blog-wise – Finishing my first Ebook,   “ You Deserve a Sparkly Chaos Free Christmas.” I am adding a recipe section this year, so be on the lookout for the updated version. I just love Christmas, but I know what it is like to be a busy working mom with visions of tinsel, trees, and treats running through your head but no time do it all!!!

Please Share One Fun or Interesting Tidbit About Your Life

I have this crazy Jack Russell Terrier that loved to climb trees when he was in his prime. He is now sixteen years old and still jumping around and running, arthritis and age are gaining, but he is still going strong.
