Menu Plan This Week

Monday –  Nitrate Free Chicken and Apple Sausage, Bavarian Style Saurkraut, steamed potatoes and grapes and strawberries for dessert.

Tuesday  Against the Grain Pizza with Nitrate Free Pepperoni and Greek Olives

Wednesday –  Turkey Bolognese and Pasta, zuki noodle for me.

Thursday –  Soup and grilled cheese for the boys. I am thinking a nice chicken and rice soup with fresh organic celery and carrots, but truly I will go with whatever mood I am in that day.

Friday    Dinner Out

Saturday – Halloween – Homemade Turkey Chili, Hotdogs with the works and Spiced Apple Cider and apple slices with creamy pumpkin spice dip and  Hot Cocoa for later with tons of marshmallows for the boys and a steaming cup of herbal vanilla tea for me after the crazy festivities.

Sunday –  Grilled Chicken Breast, Baked Beans and Chopped Salad with grilled corn and heirloom tomatoes tossed in a lemon/olive oil dressing with a hint of cilantra and mint.

Cleaning List for the Week

Monday – Deep Clean Kitchen – Choose wisely on major appliance or area to deep clean. This I suggest cleaning and organizing the pantry. It is so much easier to put together a quick pantry meal when the pantry is well-organized and stocked with a few staples.

Tuesday – Bathroom – Give the bathrooms and good scrubbing, especially, tubs, showers, sinks and mirrors.

Wednesday   Dust and Mirrors and Windows –  Dust all the furniture and doodads, shine all mirrors and windows on the inside.

Thursday –  Front Porch/Door  and Sidewalk Area – Clear out any debris or random pots of flowers that may trip your tiny trick-treaters heading to your well light door. Keep decor simple  and fun, less creepy and more silly. Let’s make a team effort not to give the neighborhood kids nightmars from trick or treating.

Friday – Declutter-one area for 5 to 10 minutes or catch up on anything that was missed during the week . Keep it simple, Friday is for family and fun!

Saturday – Linens and extra laundry. Don’t you love the idea of fresh smelling sheets and towels!

Sunday  Free Day – Family Day – An opportunity for movement!  Consider searching on-line for a kid-friendly park with a nice walking trail. Remember, always be prepared on any outdoors adventure!  Or, consider heading over to the local gardening store and choosing flowers and vegetables to fill pots to put near your front door.

Have a super week!

Pam

  1. We usually try to do something easy on Halloween, like pizza. One year I tried to do an elaborate themed meal, but it was a lot of work! Thanks for the suggestion to clean up the front porch. We just moved to a new neighborhood and we never had trick-or-treaters at our old house.

    1. Sometimes I make chili a couple of days ahead and serve hot dogs and leftover chili, whatever works for that time’s busy level.

  2. Hi Pam! Thank you so much for including my Bavarian Style Sauerkraut post in your Menu Plan this week. Feeling rather honoured. Great blog you have here! The creamy pumpkin pie dip sounds extra delicious.
