Preparing For The Storm – Simple Daily Challenge for Office and Home Office

Sometimes when I sit at my desk I feel like a hammock hanging between two large trees.  The trees are my desk standing just as proud and tall as a Mighty Oak with mighty a strong trunk of filing cabinets and drawers and I am the hammock swinging carelessly in the wind carrying all the bits and pieces of my life in the knotted netting.

I can keep these bits and pieces quite snug as long as the weather is fair and the wind a gentle breeze.

But we all know that perfect weather is just  as much a part of nature as stormy weather.  When the storm hits my hammock flips over and the bits and pieces of my life scatter in the wind.

I have to run around like a mad-woman gathering up these bits and pieces which in turn cause chaos in my life and family.  I was not prepared for the storm.  I was daydreaming that my life would have never-ending perfect weather, just like I daydream that someday I will be the next Dolly Parton. ( And Lord knows, there can only be one.)

Simple Daily Challenge:

We are going to prepare for the storm. Set you music for 3 groovy tunes or 10 minutes.

  1. File or Scan Papers into Folders
  2. Pay Bills
  3. RSVP for invitations
  4. Sign notes from the school
  5. Mail birthday cards before the actual birthday.
  6.  Send emails that you have been putting off.

Whatever else you can find in those silly stacks of paper near our desk and work areas and anything that is making you worry a little bit that you can take care of with a simple email of phone call.

  1. I use this 10 minute trick (actually, usually use 15) all the time during NaNoWriMo. Set it for 10 (or 15) minutes and see how much you can get done in that time. It’s amazing what you can do in a short burst if you allow yourself.

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. I use 10 minutes, but often times it motivates me to move forward long enough to get lots more accomplished.
