The Dewey Decimal System and the Laundry Room

Busiest Moms in the World Spring Clean Challenge Day 8

We are working in the laundry area today!

I volunteer twice a week in the school library and I just love it. The school library is a place of order. Books come in and books go out but each one has its home.  When I place the checked in book on a shelf I would never think about putting out of order. They would be shaming the most coveted Dewey Decimal system and then the children would not be able to find the book.

If we ran our homes like a library and had a designated place for everything, then we would be just like momma librarians putting away items in our Dewey Decimal homes. Wouldn’t that be the cats pajamas?

Take 5 to 10 minutes today and look in cabinets and drawers of the laundry area for items that have appeared that really do not belong there.  If it does not belong there then place it where it belongs.  If it has no home then find one and keep it there.

Now, what belongs in our laundry area cabinets and drawers should  be in some kind of order.  It is up to the family to figure out where things need to be stored.

I for one came back very motivated after my library hour this morning. I am strongly considering labeling the inside of those cabinets.

If you do not have a laundry room or area with cabinets and drawers then please use this time in the kitchen.

Just the Facts Momma:
