Three Simple Tasks and a Cold Beer

Moms don't need more to do when they are tired, they need a shorter to do list and a cold beverage.Yesterday was a full day.  Halloween can wear down this momma.  But we had a nice time, and the children looked awesome and did not eat too much candy.

Today I am gong to keep it simple, and I encourage you to join me.  I am putting about six hours of work in today so all the other stuff (life) is going to be hard to fit in.

Three Simple Tasks and a Cold Beer

Here is my challenge list for the day:

1.  Call someone I love.  The way I figure this one is what is the point of all these lists, ideas, data entry, study, research…. all of it…. if I can’t find time to tell someone that I love ” Hello and how are you?”.

2.  Empty out any trash can that is overflowing.  ( this is my biggest pet peeve )

3. Make a home-cooked meal.  God bless the inventor of the crock pot because even on super busy days that little pot can work some magic.

I am putting a frozen turkey breast in mine, and I promise that sucker will be cooked by 5:00 and it won’t taste all that bad either.

And that is it, even if I can’t make time to do two loads of laundry, mop the bathrooms, sweep the floors, and all that other stuff superwomen seem to do all over the world.  I am doing my part.  I am loving, cooking and cleaning.  Heck, I am a rocking momma, and I pity all the crazy women out there trying to work 8 hours and come home with an attitude because they believe they should be able to clean their whole house with a timer and some magical list.

When moms get tired.  We don’t’ need more things to do; we need a facial and a cold beer or two.

  1. I love the fact that you are so organized. I am a young mother (22 years), and I have to say life can be stressful. I moved to Mexico a while ago to be with my fiancé and get married (we are still in the process, though). Being the housewife is sure a pretty new thing for me. I hope to learn a thing or two here.

    1. I have had pretty good luck doing it.
I just run cold water long enough to take the plastic off.
then pop it into the crock pot on low for 8 to 10 hours.

Just make sure you get the right internal temperature for the bird when the cooking time is over.
I am not a chef, but I studied cooking at culinary institute and all the chefs frowned on crockpot cooking.

They have way too much time on their hands in my opinion.
But they did have concerns over the heat of a crock pot.
So I must repeat, check the internal temperature of the breast.

I have never had a problem.
