Three Simple Tasks and an Iced Cold Tea

Planning Day
Paper Pushing

What the world really needs is more love and less paper work.

Pearl Bailey

Its a busy end to a busy week. I am sitting at my desk looking at an overflowing physical inbox, around 300 emails to deal with or delete, and fast growing TO Do list that seems to have developed its own personality and social circle.

I think the beginning of a new school year is like this for most parents. It feels as if the paper trail never ends. Just when you think you have filled out the last of 20 or so forms they send they send another stack. What is it with all these forms? We had one set that stated  its was a Simple One Sheet form for the packet. It was a nasty trick. Written in tiny letters at the end was a request to fill out all the forms and the Simple One but just attach one check made out to the PFA for everything. *big fat sigh*

I made it through the first week of paper work only to receive the second stack which asks for money up front for school pictures. Now, wait a minute.  Does this mean regardless of how bad a hair day my son has I am going to have to buy said picture even if his hair is sticking out at all ends and he has his finger up his nose? I guess it will be a treasure.

Well enough of this senseless chatter. I guess I am ranting, but I was due.

I am setting my sites on three simple task and plan to have a bit of quiet reading time with an Iced Cold Tea. If I move quickly and don’t get distracted by Twitter, Facebook and the new kid on the block Google Plus I should finished in record time and get my mommy treat for the day. Reading, you just have to make time.

  1. Clear out the emails and assign the tasks that I need to complete.
  2. Clear out the Physical inbox and add tasks and calendar dates as needed.
  3. Pay the bills. Wish I could skip this one, but I like the lights on and I think the new Big Bang Theory start this week so I really should pay the Cable bill.

And there you have it.

SImple Daily Challenge for the day: Clear out your inboxes. Your choice Physical, Virtual or the dreaded bill box.

  1. Good luck with your list. I know it may be 3 simple steps but I am sure it is a lot of work. 🙂

I am visiting today from the Friday blog hop. I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend and are able to get things done.
