Can You Find Elvis?

My desk is a mess. I honestly have no excuse.  I have been successfully ignoring the mess for a couple of days.  You see the truth as I see it is….

  1. I was looking for one tiny piece of kind of important tax information.
  2. Little Guy had a diorama due today and I just have not had the time to tidy.
  3. Drinking coffee is much more enjoyable than organizing or cleaning on most days.
  4. I am a perfectionist and if I can’t make it perfect than I tend to just ignore it.
  5. Messy Desk  =  Artistic, Creative, Do-Gooder, Engaging Conversationalist with a minor Twitter Addiction. At least that is what I am telling myself.

So I am challenging myself, and any other overwhelmed mom out there to give their workspace at little momma –love today.  Just spend about 10 minutes or so and you will be surprised at how good it feels to sit and work at a tidy desk.  I am assuming I am not the only one on this world -wide -web with a messy desk.  Right?

Pictured of course is the before picture.  I am shamefully embarrassed.  As a matter of fact I am praying to the Internet angels that my own momma does not read this post.

I will post an update tomorrow morning on my 10- minute challenge.   And I of course will be listening to the King sing the entire time.  I am a Southern gal and we tend to love us some Elvis.

I swear I am only going to post exactly what 10-minutes changed.  Honesty is important to us artistically, engaging, twitter addicts.

Did you find Elvis?

peace and popcorn,
momma

Here is the after post….. I found Elvis.

  1. I don’t have a desk anymore but I will apply this to my kitchen counter. Ten minutes can make a big difference though! Good luck with your de-clutter 😀

  2. Thanks for stopping by Amy! I am thinking I might get to my challenge a soon I take a quick trip to the drug store.

  3. He he… I feel like you’re talking about me here… I’m a perfectionist too…. and most of the things that don’t get done in my life don’t get done because I stress that they won’t be done perfectly, so I just leave them as they are. Unfortunately, with two little kids running around trashing the house, procrastinating on cleaning tends to lead to a colossal disaster in 2 seconds flat! He he… I am stopping by from the BloggyMoms weekend blog hop, and I am your newest follower! I would love it if you’d stop by my blog — I write a humorous blog about the joys, trials, and tribulations of motherhood at http://www.misadventuresinmotherhood.com. I’d love to see you there!

Have a great weekend! It’s great to meet you! Smiles, Jenn

  6. Hmmm, made me think about my office. I tend to create new clutter as I organize old clutter. LOL. I like the 10 minutes. It is amazing what you can do when you just focus on it. I read a blog on elance the other day and one of things I have kept in mind is: I can focus on strictly working without having 5 other windows open, along with playing 3 or 4 facebook games. I’ve been sticking to that and it does help.

    1. This is something I am extremely guilty of… the windows being open all over the place. Sometimes I just unplug the power, my computer might not like it, But the clean slate sure is nice. lol
