Is Your Child’s Bathroom A Mess? Teaching Responsibility Challenge

Child's Bath Towel

I enjoy looking at inspiring photos to give me that jumpstart I need to get things done and make things shine.  The adorable Jumping Beans® Frog Hooded Bath Towel, in Green, complete with froggy face and giant polka dots just makes you want to jump up and teach our children to tidy up a bit so that their bathroom sparkle a little and al empowering them to be self-efficient tiny home makers.

Our jobs as mommies or parents is to do the super hard stuff, like getting rid of mildew.  But our little ones and olders ones can help out by using just plain old water and wash rags in many instances around the bathroom sinks and the counters.  They can also put all their personal items away every morning including, hanging their hand towel, putting away their comb and spiking gel, rinsing and storing their toothbrush and tooth paste and making sure hair bows and hair bands are put away in their proper home.

What responsiblities do your children handle in their bathroom space?

Yesterday in the Simple Daily Challenge we taught the little ones how to put away their bath towel and dirty clothes.  Today we are going to remind them to do those two things and also show them where all of their personal items are stored. It is a good idea to keep their items separate from their parents and in separate containers to set good ground rules. Use this as an opportunity to teach respect and privacy, especially if it is a shared space.

Simple Daily Challenge:

Teach your child One or All of the following items.

1. Put away all peronsal bathroom items. ( hair ties, bows, brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
2. Rinse the sink with old rag or sponge, rinse rag, and hang on a hook inside the sink or other designated area)
3. Wipe down the counters to remove spilled tooth paste, gell or other stuff with dampened sponge, rinse the sponge and put it away.

And that is it!  Tomorrow we will remind them to do all of their responsiblities and then we can easily clean up their bathroom without spending 10 minutes tidying first.
Now got teach you babies and have a rocking day!
