40 Day Clutter Challenge Instilling Hope In Your Family

Welcome to the 40 Day Clutter Challenge. If you are wondering what happened to the missed days I had forgotten that we are having Sundays off so I am adjusting the calendar dates so that we end at the proper time near Easter Sunday. We are hanging out today in our dining rooms and working on organizing and tidying or 20 minutes and getting out the door 12 items of clutter.  If this is your first time take a look at our Kick-off post and past challenges by clicking the link below. Today we are going to talk about instilling hope in our families, which is so essential in this faced paced world that can seem cold.

40 Day Clutter Challenge – You Are Loved

“Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”

Shel Silverstein

40 Day Clutter Challenge Instilling Hope In Your Family

I absolutely love this quote.  So much in fact that I am thinking of making a word art poster for the hallway in our home.  A nice little reminder that anything is possible and there is always hope.

How do we instill hope in our family?  At our house, we try to let the boys know that they are capable of anything they set their minds to doing and we have always been supportive of their hobbies.  Our oldest ( now married) is a great photographer and even now in the midst of his busyness, I remind him to take time and work on his hobby because he is so good and it would be a waste of talent not to share his gift with the world.

It might sound over the top, but I don’t think so.  I am his teacher (momma) still, even though he is out in the world on his own.  And I think telling him to reach for a dream gives hope or instills hope. And when you have hope you have optimism and it blossoms and turns into happiness.

Question:  How do you instill hope into your children’s or spouses’ lives?

CHALLENGE

Today our suggested area of tidying and organizing is the Dining Room. If you use the kitchen area as the dining room, then spend some extra time there today.

Our goal. -12 items out the door and 20 minutes of tidying and organizing.  Today take a look at table linens, cloth napkins, dishes and candle holders.  Take a good look and ask yourself if you still love these things, which ones do you use? which ones are sentimental? And which are just taking up precious space in your home.

Donate- Give – Trash if it is beyond repair or usefulness.

Next Challenge–  We are back in the kitchen and working on the pantry.
