40 Day Clutter Challenge – Kitchen Inspiration and One Corny Joke

Fresh green herb in metal pot for kitchen decor and inspiration.

Welcome to day 24 of the 40 Day Clutter Challenge. We are working on creating a more peaceful home by tidying, decluttering and being inspired with quotes, short essays and beautiful photos.

Today are challenge is still in the kitchen the heart of the home.  Before we begin, enjoy a few beautiful kitchen to inspire you to make the most of what you have and bring joy to the room with less clutter.  Having just a few loved things out in the kitchen creates an atmosphere of peace and a clear space for creating family meals.

Love the simple basket with just a couple of items including utensils and the floour and sugar.
My heart is set on white cabinets in the kitchen some day.
Another wonderful example of cleared counter space.  We rarely eat bread but I still love a bread box.
I could hide my chocolate in that nifty vintage container. 🙂
Another wonderful example of simplistic counter tops.
The only thing missing is a Keurig Machine. My husband and I are pretty dependent on our morning cup of java.
This is very close to my dream kitchen.
I would make it a share my cottage rustic and lose those 70’s style kitchen chairs on the right but….
that desk on the left and that mega-sized fridge….
just brings me joy, joy, joy.

Dreams are wonderful. Kitchen dreams are extra wonderful.

QUOTE FOR THE DAY

Sitting down at the table is a sacred event. It’s the heart of the home. People have ginormous homes or crappy little homes, but the kitchen is where we always end up sitting. It’s where the stories happen, the family happens.  Debi Mazar

CHALLENGE FOR THE DAY – Finish up the refrigerator and please don’t forget the freezer side.  After you are finished take a good look at the counters.  Are they messy? Are they stacked with stuff?  Take 5 minutes and try to put some of that stuff away.  If you have no place to put it, then it is time to really think about downsizing some kitchen stuff.  But tomorrow is another day.

20 minutes of tidying and organizing in the kitchen with a focus on the refrigerator and counters.

12 items to get rid of by donating, giving away or tossing from the kitchen or any other room in the house.

TOMORROW –  We have reader’s choice and the following Monday we go to the Inside.  Inside cabinets and drawers. We are going to find a way to free up space to clear off parts of the counter.  Yes we can do this!

Peace and love to all of you!
