When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing – just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?
Welcome to the 40 Day Clutter Challenge. I am so happy to have you here. I am happy that you have taken a moment to just consider tidying up your home, reducing clutter and reading this post.
40 Day Clutter Challenge Live in the Moment
Today we are going to take a moment and listen to our home.
- Turn off white-noise, you know the television, radio, fan etc. ( Don’t turn off the heat if it is 10 below outside, let’s use some common sense.)
- Listen for 2 minutes and just enjoy the sounds of your home as it is. You may hear the shrieks or chatter of children, the snore of your old dog, the sound of your tummy rumbling – hungry for a snack or just the wind in the trees.
- Take a moment and think about this gift, your home, your loved ones, and what this means to you.
- Take another moment and make a conscious decision to make today beautiful to the best of your ability. Be grateful for what you have and make your home shine as it is, not as what you wish it to be. Be thankful for your loved ones, and make an effort to tell them today. Be grateful for your faith or inner spiritual strength and spend some time in prayer or meditation.
Do this exercise often!
I encourage you to do this exercise often, it encourages appreciation for what you have now at this moment, your family, your faith, your home and most importantly you.
