4th of July Decorations – Patriotic Home Tour

4th of July Decorations

Hi friends!  Welcome to our 4th of July Decorations and Patriotic Home Tour! I am a huge fan of all things red-white and blue.  As an  Air Force brat I can’t help the stirring in my heart when I think of all the men and women who have put their lives on the line to make this country safe so that I can be free.  I can’t help but remember fondly my visit to Washington D. C. a few years ago and looking upon our Declaration of Independence and thinking of our founding fathers gathered with a cup of coffee in hand planning the first steps of the country I call home, the United States of America.  Decorating for the many patriotic holidays in the summer brings me such joy and  tender-hearted moments.

Please enjoy this peek into our home, our very first patriotic, Fourth Of July decorating celebration!

Fourth of July Decoraitons - Free Printable

Let’s kick this tour off with our free printable!   This Fourth of July printables captures our families traditional 4th of July celebration at Lake Tahoe, Nevada.  We enjoy family fun, bbq, parades and a visit from Uncle Sam.   This free printable is our gift to you as a thank you for visiting. 🙂

Pictured above is our cute little Uncle Sam nestled on a shelf with our 4th of July celebration printable, favorite books including David McCullough’s John Adams and a wooden sign that reads “God Bless America”.  I love the blue mason jar candle,  it gives a pop of  color that ties all the fun elements together.

4th Of July Decorations - Style Bookcase- - Red White and Blue fun.

Here is a view of the entire book-case and a tiny peek into the dining room. 🙂

4th of July Decortaions - Round Serving Tray

Across from the bookcase we have a dark wood coffee table adorned with a round serving tray holding mini-American flags, a tiny cactus and a few coasters for my son to ignore when he sets his soda can on the table. ( just keeping it real folks)

4th of July Decorations - Dining ROom Table with American Flag centerpiece

Here is the dining room with our 4th of July tablescape complete with bright blue napkins and a striped red, white and blue tablecloth.  My favorite element of the table is the Flag Centerpiece.

4th of July Decorations - American Flag Center Piece

I loved hunting down the perfect wicker basket to compliment the striped cotton table-cloth. I used plants that could be added to the landscaping after the centerpiece was taken down.  The mini flags are such a bargain at local stores, usually two for a dollar and the basket was a great buy at Homegoods.  This basket centerpiece of small American flags is my favorite of all the decorations this year.

4th of July Table with Flags in Corner

Here is one more photo of the dining room table, you can see more flags in the corner on the wine cart.

4th of July Decorations - Party Favors

I added a few party favors and a pitcher of medium-sized flags to this entertainment/wine cart.  This rolling cart was a real find on sale at Target and has come in handy for more holidays than I can count.  We live in Southern California so our firecrackers are really just confetti poppers and of course bubbles are always safe in our dry-desert area, but the splash of color with the fun-fetti activity was a nice addition to our patriotic theme.

4th of July Decorations – Outdoor BBQ Time

4th of July Decorating - Outdoor BBQ Tablesetting and USA Decoratin

Now we are outside on the back patio for our family bbq.  It gets cool at night here so we often have turkey chili on the patio outside, adding the festive patriotic decorations just adds to the fun.

4th of July Decorations - Planter with red geranmiums and flags

I love adding flags into several pots for added charm and color. You can never have to many flags for a USA celebration, like the 4th of July.

4th of July Decorations - Patriotic Red White and Blue Tablescape

Pictured is a top nearly birds eye view  of the round table. I loved the plaid red, white and blue table-cloth and the red plates of kid-friendly material ( code for, not going to break momma’s good stuff today folks)

4th of July Decorations Using Cakestand, Uncle Sam and Jar of Mini Flags

Here is a close-up of the cake stand centerpiece with Uncle Sam 1 and Uncle Sam 2. I loved the simple glass jar and the mini flags so much I used it twice!  😉

4th of July Decorations - BBQ Condiment Tray

Here is another cake stand in red-metal  complete with super cool USA art and ceramic patriotic  salt and pepper shakers.

I really enjoyed taking my patriotic spirit outdoors.

Before we go lets take one more look at the red door.  That door took some real thinking time before my husband and I chose the best color of red to compliment our dark gray house with white trim.

What do you think?  Are you are bold and red door kind of home person or keep it safe and neutral, match the trim kind of person????

  1. I love it all Pam! I consider myself to be very patriotic. I’m the one who cries at the National Anthem and even the Pledge of Allegiance sometimes. It was all I could do to keep my tears quiet during the Memorial Day service we went to this year.

My family has not served except my step-dad. But I feel the highest honor is due to those who have. The cost to the individual and to their families is great even if they are not injured physically.

Thanks so much for visiting me at Harvest Lane Cottage. I’m thinking about taking my husband someplace where he can be near water for Father’s Day.
