Chocolate Vanilla Blueberry Spinach Smoothie
Mmmm, chocolate, I don’t know too many folks out there who do not like a good piece of chocolate. In my youth, my go to chocolate fix was a double scoop of Rocky Road ice cream with a generous helping of hot fudge. These days those calories go right to my blogging behind. But I have found my go to chocolate fix in this Chocolate Vanilla Blueberry Spinach Smoothie. This super vitamin packed smoothie is amazing and gives me the chocolate buzz I crave.
The ingredients so simple and healthy, you will be amazed at how chocolatey it tastes!
This is a got to breakfast for me on busy days and my family loves it!
Recipe: Chocolate Vanilla Blueberry Spinach Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 cups frozen blueberries
- 2 oz. raw baby spinach leaves ( I just grab a good handful)
- 1/2 banana
- 2 dates, pitted
- 1 heaping spoon tablespoon natural cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon real vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup almond milk (use more if required)
Directions:
Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy. I add the frozen berries first, then the banana, dates, spinach, cocoa powder, vanilla and finally the vanilla extract. It just seems to blend easier layered in the manner. I blend on smoothie setting on the Vitamix. Use what blender you have.
I hope you enjoy this yummy Chocolate Vanilla Blueberry Spinach Smoothie! I encourage you to try and use as many organic ingredients as possible. For some reason my taste buds feel that blueberries are sweeter in season, organic and fresh and if you choose to use fresh add a couple of ice cubes to make your smoothie nice and cold.
