March Simplified Decluttering ListWelcome to March! One of my favorite months of the year! March is a time we leave the old behind and seek the new. We shed winters tired old gloom and begin to look forward to fresh green landscapes and spring flowers!
March is also the perfect time to tidy up and refresh the laundry room. The laundry room is a dumping zone in many households. Many times it is either in the garage or a walkthrough from the garage or carport. This means literally anything you can imagine gets left on top of the washer and dryer, on the counter, or on the floor. This means you really have to stay on top of clutter in order to maintain a reasonable amount of clearance just to do your laundry!
I am going to walk over right now and give you the whole truth about what is happening in our laundry room right now, hold on.
( And mom, if you are reading this, I promise it will get tidied today! )
- Barnes and Noble bag, filled with Nerf Guns. ( ???)
- Six boxes of Celestial Seasoning Bengal Spice Tea.
(Okay, that is all me, I love some spiced tea) - 4 Tubes or random lip balm.
- 1 Tennis Ball
- 1 pair of dangerously crusty white tennis socks. ( ew!)
- 2 Dirty Dish Towels
- 1 package of multi-pack tissues. (we are just getting over the cold season)

. (we are just getting over the cold season)This is not so bad, right? However, clutter slows down productivity. No one wants to fluff and fold their freshly washed laundry when the area is filled with clutter!

- Declutter empty bottles and containers
- Discard Any Cleaners or Stain Removers That You Do Not Use
- Declutter Any Misc. Items that are stored in the laundry room.
- Discard Rags That Are Beyond Use
- Check to see if Ironing Board Cover needs to be replaced.

I had two almost dead plants, change(score!) a dirty sponge, and dried out business cards of the hubby’s that went through the wash (oops) sitting on our washer and dryer. I still need to clean out the cabinets in there and reorganize, but I felt so much better after the crap was gone from on top of the machines. Happy March!
I have washed so many things by accident. But my husband washed a brand new iPad once so I will forever be better at sorting laundry! LOL
