Menu Plans, Cleaning List and Book Nooks

Organize Your Week

Happy Monday!  I am excited to begin a full week of personal health change!  I am in the midst of the 10 Day Detox by Dr. Hyman and will be landing on day three today!  I already have lost a couple of pounds of weight a bit of tire from my tummy. I am very excited for positive change.  The menu for the week for me will be super clean and healthy and also pretty similar for my boys.

Fed Up

I urge you to watch the film Fed Up and consider reading the 10 Day Detox Book by Dr. Hyman to learn all about how our  body responds to true healthy living.

On with the Show!

Menu for the Week

Monday – Herb Crusted Chicken Breast  over field greens and sliced tomatoes with a side of rice for the boys.

Tuesday – Rice bowls with grass-fed ground turkey seasoned an aromatic Mexican style blend of chili powder, cumin, garlic, onions and organic tomato sauce, top with chopped fresh veggies and quartered avocado.  YUM!

My rice will be cauliflower rice.

Wednesday – Turkey Breast, Roasted Carrot Fries, Greens Salad with an olive oil and lemon juice blend with a hint of Dijon mustard for flare.

Thursday – Baked Cod with sautéed spinach, onions, garlic and mushrooms, a side of mashed potatoes for the boys.

Friday- Chipotle – I am addicted and it tastes really good.

Saturday – Baked Chicken, Roasted Asparagus and a simple lettuce salad with champagne vinegar and olive oil.

Sunday – Chicken Breast on the BBQ, Jicama Fries, Radish and Cucumber Slaw.

Cleaning List for the Week

For the next few weeks we will visit each room and area of the house for a general cleaning, some rooms will be visited twice, these will be the rooms we use most often.

Monday – Deep Clean Kitchen – Choose wisely on major appliance or area to deep clean. This I suggest cleaning and organizing the pantry. It is so much easier to put together a quick pantry meal when the pantry is well-organized and stocked with a few staples.

Tuesday – Bathroom – Give the bathrooms and good scrubbing, especially, tubs, showers, sinks and mirrors.

Wednesday   Dust and Mirrors and Windows –  Dust all the furniture and doodads, shine all mirrors and windows on the inside.

Thursday –  Family Room – Clear the clutter off the floor and couches, dust the knick knacks and fluff the pillows.  ( Now we are ready for family time!)

Friday – Declutter-one area for 5 to 10 minutes or catch up on anything that was missed during the week . Keep it simple, Friday is for family and fun!

Saturday – Linens and extra laundry. Don’t you love the idea of fresh smelling sheets and towels!

Sunday  Free Day – Family Day – Take a picnic lunch to the local park, enjoy a long walk and a leisurely lunch!

Book Nooks

Summer time is fun but reading must be done with our kiddos. Create a special book nook and have them hang out and read for 20 to 30 minutes per day.  Reading keeps helps to keep their learning groove intact over summer break.

 Have a super week!
