There is something about a clean car both inside and out that makes you feel organized and a tiny bit fancy pants. There is something that feels next to impossible to do this when you have small children and a packed schedule. So I have decided this morning that Penelope Perfect is not really going to be part of my life until all my children are grown and out of my house and I am so rich that I actually have a car maid. Yes, I am dreaming big here, after all we are at the dawn of a new year. (Surely, you are grasping my morning humor here. Right?)
Simple Daily Challenge:
Move over Penelope Perfect this Momma is taking over her world. Its a new year and a new attitude. Behold,we are the momma’s who can get things done. Because mommas can-do anything they set their mind to with a positive attitude and a few minutes.
Take two simple minutes today and clear out car clutter. Grab a trash bag and a clutter bag and get busy. The clutter bag will hold all the stuff that needs to go back to its proper home. Set your MP3 player, timer, or built in mom-clock and get busy clearing out your vehicle. Our mom vans, trucks and cars are almost a second home and we need to give them a little attention every now and then. You can totally do this and just in case you didn’t get the tiny joke. The built -in mom-clock is the moment right before you little ones notice you are busy doing something and then promptly ask for a snack, drink, crayon, play-time etc.
p.s. Set you clutter bag inside the door to put away this afternoon. Have the children put their items away if they are old enough.
I’d like to say it is easier when they are teens, but it’s still just as hard. I long ago decided I’d worry about a clean car when I’m the only one riding in it. It’s the only way I can cope. Doesn’t mean Dad isn’t always yelling at me about the state of my car. But you know, often it’s cleaner than his with all his McD’s bags from breakfast on the way to the train! So humph! 😉
Yes, mine is the same way. The company cleans his car once a week, so no sweat off his nose. He could trade cars, but I refuse to drive the what I refer to as the tiny, tuna, can. : )
I am a car clutter offender! I need a for real car maid. That would be so super!
I love that “car clutter offender”. lol

Even with the kids no drinking and eating in the car rule it’s still a mess. They collect rocks and toys everywhere! I spent my lunch break last week cleaning out the car before the start of the new year. Felt fabulous…although there is already a collection of dinosaurs and trains in the back.
I have tried that rule so many times. Then as soon as my son gets used to the idea we go on a long road trip and I am weak. I let him have practically anything.
