The Bathroom Counter Organizing Quick Fix

I have longed to remodel the bathroom for a while. But, it seems like this house needs so many things the bathroom gets put to the bottom again and again.  Therefore, I tend to not pretty- it up like I should. And really that is silly, It has good bones and a nice rug, so why not?

My momma always told me that I should add something pretty or change things up a bit  in my house often to keep my marriage happy. Now, that baffles me because what  a floral tea towel has to do with my marriage is beyond me.  But perhaps there is some truth to that.  Do we not get tired of looking at the same old shade of lipstick or watching the same old reruns on television? People tend to like change, it gives them something to talk about and something a bit new to enjoy looking at as well.

So, if you are married or not, changing things up a bit in your home will make you smile a bit and at the very least give you something to chat about at your next coffee meet-up with your girlfriends. That is a good thing right?

Oh dear, I am chattering again… on with the show.

The top of the counter was a mess a couple of days ago and it was really starting bug me silly. So I did a two-minute clutter busting and it looked a bit better. But it still did not seem organized. It just seemed like my husband was a minimalist and I was a hoarder.

So, I drove myself to the nearest Target and with my decided budget in mind and found two helpful items, a cosmetic organizer and a toilet tissue holder. Now, I longed for a few other things, but I kept telling myself these are just pretty little bandaids and any extra bucks I have laying around really need to end up in the bank to save toward the remodel.

So I left the store happily with the tissue holder and the cosmetic organizer and a Vanilla Latte.  I know, blew money on a Vanilla Latte, a girl has to have her sugar you know.

Here are the results. Its is workable and was not too expensive.

Here is the after.  I feel the nicest impact was using the Toilet Paper holder to hide the hair dryer. I traded with my oldest son because his hair dryer folded.

The toilet paper basket holds my hair brushes and the traded hair dryer quite nicely.

This whole process took around 10 minutes and the added cosmetic organizer save me time because these old eye just are not what they used to be.
