Time To Slim The Treats Down

We had a wonderful weekend filled with celebration and good eats! My scale will tell you I had a few too many treats! So this week it’s all about paying my dues and eating lean and green, and being diligent in making sure my “treats” are nutritious.

Starting up a Lean and Green little bootcamp over here and really focussing on meal prepping to prevent super oopses! You know, brownie and ice cream bloopers and super size oatmeal cookies mishaps, this girl somehow captured a sweet tooth during these crazy months and now years recently, because of COVID and other mayhem.

Lean Meats and Lots of Greens

Lean and green meals to me are simple proteins, like baked chicken breast, boiled eggs, or a cup of beans. Of course, the greens and protein are NOT fried or swimming in cream, but simple and garnished with fresh herbs. Think salads with a little olive oil, or sheet pan dinners with lots of green vegetables and very little potato or carrots, etc.

I love this book for getting ideas on eating leaner meals. And this one, because I truly feel eating a lot of fruits, nuts, and vegetables instead of meat is good for our environment and our health. Here is our
