Momma’s Weekly Plan -Summer, Books, and Self-Care

less clutter more peace more time

Each Monday bright and early I  post my personal weekly goals. These weekly goals will focus on organizing, cleaning, cooking, decorating, health and dreaming. I hope that sharing my goals will give me the needed boost to see them through and also to help other moms get motivation to see their goals through as well.  We busy moms need all the help we can get! I would love to hear about your plans for the week either in a comment with a link to your blog, on the Mommacan.com facebook page or even ( gasp) Google Plus if that floats your boat.  I truly believe that sharing our goals will help us to reach our goals.

Organize- I am still working in my office. Last week I barely made progress as the school had book fair all week and I was there every single day selling books and reading books. It was not a productive week at home but it sure was a joy to watch the children exploring new books and sharing new books with their friends.  I must share my favorite book of the week.

This Is the Rope: A Story From the Great Migration

Many of you have probably heard of a story quilt, a quilt that has many cloth blocks weaving the history of a family over time.  Well, in this story the weaving is thoughtfully sewn with a rope that travels with this family in a  heart-warming way becoming a new tool to each of the three generations. First a jump rope, then a tie to adhere luggage to a car roof for a family move, then a clothes line, then back to a jump rope with each scene the family moves and changes from generation to generation but the rope remain a steady symbol of family working together moving from the south to the north where more opportunities were available to African-Americans.  It is a very good story, and you can’t help but fall in love with each generation.

100 Club – School is nearly out for the summer, and with that comes clutter, clutter, clutter. So I will be back to doing a 100 club pick up every morning starting today. Check out the 100 Club post here.

Self-Care – I am also adding self-care each week for the summer. This is a really good time for us busy moms to get into the habit of taking a bit of exercise and making healthy meal plans for your family. I intend to feel and look my best this summer!

Dream – I am dreaming of beaches, warm summer sand, vast blue skies and the smell of coconuts.  This week we will be visiting the beach in some form or fashion with our daily challenges. If we have to clean and organize we may as well be dreaming of summer fun as we go!

let's have a simply awesome summer

Our theme for June on Momma Can is Simply Awesome Summer!

So please tell me.  What would make your summer awesome?
