Photo Reflections and a Bit of Dusting

I am traveling this week and am currently visiting my daddy and momma.  Sitting at the kitchen table I can see a framed photo of my youngest son from two years ago. He has grown so much in the past two years.  Before I know it, he will be haunting the halls of school as a seasoned second grader.  This means shopping for school clothes and crayons and Lord knows I adore shopping for anything related to office supplies.  I simply cannot wait.

As I glance around sipping my coffee I notice one thing about my house and my momma’s that are not quite the same.  All of the family pictures are arranged in unique ways throughout the house.  You might see a tiny photo of a grandchild on an end table or a series of no more than three photos on a shelf.  The frames are all unique to the photo.  This reflects momma’s personality: perfection, style and color.

In my house all the family photos are in one spot, each on incased in a simple black frame excluding one that my mother-in- law gave me.  Its a photo of my husband family dressed in Latin attire and the frame is golden with small round topaz beads. It really stands out on the shelf and reminds me of the early eighties.

Looking at my mom’s photos and thinking about mine I have decided change is good.  When I get home in the next couple of days I am going to take a couple of minutes and rearrange my favorite family photos.  I might even jazz up a couple of places with some new photos, maybe, but for sure I will dust them because those little suckers are dust magnets.

Where do you keep your family photos?
Simple Daily Challenge: Take a few minutes and enjoy your family photos, give them a little dusting love and perhaps rearrange them just a bit.  If you are feeling wild and crazy, try framing just one piece in a frame that is just a bit out of the ordinary.
