Patriotic Brownies Made With Kodiak Cakes Mix

I purchased several brownie, cookie, and cake mixes recently because there was no flour in the markets because of these unusual times.

I looked at the Kodiak brand and found that they make it with whole grains. So, I grabbed up a few for trying, including the Kodiak Cakes Chocolate Chip Blondie Brownie Mix.

I wanted to make some special treats for the patriotic USA holidays coming up and special ordered some amazing Red, White, & Blue M&M’s to add a little extra touch of color. If time allows, I will make another recipe or two using these fun and yummy chocolate candies.

Easy Patriotic Blondie Brownies

Here are the ingredients:

  • 1 Pack Kodiak Cakes Blondie Brownie Mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 Cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 cup M&M’s (I used Red, White, & Blue, but use the colors you love!)

Special Note: only mix 2/3 of chocolates in the mix. Save some for topping the dish right before baking for a beautiful presentation.

You can use a 9×9 pan or anything equivalent. I used this pan, which I love for holidays because white matches all decor.

How To Make Patriotic Blondie Brownie Treats

  • Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients, excluding M&M’s.
  • Hand stir until blended, then add 2/3 cup of M&M’s to mix and fold into the brownie mixture.
  • Pour into a 9×9 or equivalent greased pan. Then place remaining M&M’s on top of mixture to give a beautiful finish to the brownies.
  • Bake for 22-24 minutes or until a toothpick comes out slightly moist.
  • Serve with some wonderful vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
