Menu Plan, Cleaning List and Tools for the Busy Mom

Organize Your Week

The house is a mess, there are packages for wedding attire and the kitchen for the healthy lifestyle change all over the place!  My den is set up for exercise until the bathroom remodel is complete (still waiting for it to get started) and  my son is getting married on Saturday! In other words, my week is crazy, but I am keeping a TO DO list practically glued to my elbow. I am an emotional hen, clucking and pecking around the house sometimes with a joyful leap in my step and sometimes in tears because my baby is getting married!  But I still have to eat healthy  in this chaos and I still need the bathroom at least to be cleaned and the kitchen to be in working order.

Here are the lists for the week!

Menu For The Week at Our House!

Monday – Grilled Chicken Breast, Green salad with Dijon vinaigrette  and vine-ripened tomatoes with a little past for the boys.

Tuesday – Turkey Meatloaf – Gluten Free and Paleo Friendly – Recipe coming soon! Served with sautéed spinach and apples slices.

Wednesday – Roast Whole Chicken with tones of lemon for punch and a blend of dried Italian seasonings with roasted cabbage and carrots in the pan. A one pot meal! Woo hoo!

Thursday – Against the Grain Pizza – My 10 Day Detox is over and I will be eating very close to this lifestyle forever. I am kicking of the 30 Day Sugar Solution on June 28!

Friday- Rehearsal Dinner- Lebanese Cuisine ( I am so excited!)

Saturday – My son is getting married! I ordered the beef with vegetables and I will eat around the mashed potatoes, because yes, I have that kind of will power now.

Sunday- Meatballs and zucchini pasta for me, gluten-free noodles for the boys. Arugula salad tossed in olive oil and lemon juice.

Cleaning List for the Week

For the next few weeks we will visit each room and area of the house for a general cleaning, some rooms will be visited twice, these will be the rooms we use most often.

Monday – Deep Clean Kitchen – Choose wisely on major appliance or area to deep clean. This I suggest cleaning and organizing the pantry. It is so much easier to put together a quick pantry meal when the pantry is well-organized and stocked with a few staples.

Tuesday – Bathroom – Give the bathrooms and good scrubbing, especially, tubs, showers, sinks and mirrors.

Wednesday   Dust and Mirrors and Windows –  Dust all the furniture and doodads, shine all mirrors and windows on the inside.

Thursday –  Coat Closet or Hall Closet–  Hang up any strays, declutter any no longer needed or loved items and straighten shelves. Now you won’t be afraid to open that closet door!

Friday – Declutter-one area for 5 to 10 minutes or catch up on anything that was missed during the week . Keep it simple, Friday is for family and fun!

I have to share a couple of my favorite tools in this crazy chaos!  Because, that is what moms do, they share what works and rant about what does not.

Method Glass and Surface Cleaner, Waterfall, 28 Ounce

I grab a roll of paper towels and a couple of microfiber towels and use this stuff on every surface excluding wooden furniture. It smels fresh and not chemical which is a plus. It is my go to cleaner in busy times.

Wusthof Classic Ikon 8-Inch Cook’s Knife, Black

This chef knife gets the job done efficiently and sharpens well. A good chef knife can replace a ton of extra tools in the kitchen, for slicing, dicing and mincing. I love it and have the set, but this is a good starter piece.

And to weigh myself every single morning during the Dr. Hyman 10 Day Detox… this little magic scale of honesty and reality.  Boy the first time I stepped on it I was a little bit surprised. But “the truth shall set you free”, right?

At any rate, these are the tools I have been using daily for the past 10 days in my ultra busy detox/wedding bells crazy schedule.

Have a rocking week!
