Ribeye steak should taste like butter, not shoe leather. Most people crank the heat too high, flip too often, and skip the one step that locks in all those juices. Gas grills make perfect ribeye possible for anyone, even if you have never grilled before. The secret is learning how to control your heat zones, when to flip, and why resting your steak matters more than the cooking itself. Once you know these three things, you will serve up steakhouse-quality ribeye in your own backyard every single time.
How To Grill Ribeye Steak On A Gas Grill
Ribeye steaks are some of the best tasting cuts of beef you can buy. The reason why they are so darn tasty is the marbling. Marbling is another word for fat, and thank goodness because without the fat the meat would be as tough as nails, especially quick cooked on a grill!
When purchasing any kind of red meat buy the best quality you can afford. I could write forever why grass-fed is a better choice but that fact is you have to buy what you can afford. We rarely eat red meat but as mention above it is my youngest son’s favorite thing to eat. If I add a couple of slices of bacon we can finally calm the teenage savage eating machine. https://www.grossmanmed.com/blog/lasix-online/
I make sure to buy 1 1/4 -1 1/2 thickness for our ribeye steaks and tons of marbling, commonly referred to as prime ribeye. I have noticed there is less fat in grass-fed rib eye. The size really doesn’t matter, but the package usually comes with steaks in a similar size or are sold individually. https://www.grossmanmed.com/blog/cialis-online/
Important Tip- Take care to remove steaks from the refrigerator to get them to room temperature.
The temp of your gas grill is so important! I highly recommend a grill surface thermometer to make sure your temperature is on spot. Every gas grill is different so a thermometer helps regulate the cooking method. Set grill to medium-high it should read around 450 degrees on the surface thermometer.
Grill each boneless ribeye steak for 4-5 minutes on each side. This will cook the meat to medium-rare. Get a really good thermometer for this important job. Here is my favorite!
The cooking time for ribeye steak on a gas grill will vary slightly so checking the internal temperature is helpful.
Like it rare or well-done?
120° F = Rare
130° F = Medium rare
140° F = Medium
160° F = Well done
Remove steak from grill and let rest for 5-minutes to lock in the juice.
Serve with your favorite sides. Try a few of our favorites!
I hope these steps proved simple enough for a successful ribeye steak dinner! Cooking on the gas grill is so much fun and makes for special family memories.
Take steaks out of fridge thirty minutes prior to grilling.
Heat up the gas grill to Medium-High around 350 degrees using surface grate thermometer
Grill each side of the steaks for 5 minutes or until 130 degrees
Let rest for five minutes to maintain juiciness.
Serve with favorite sides. Maybe a little steak sauce!
Notes
Some folks like a rare steak. Here is a guide for internal temperatures for rare to well-done. Remember steak will still cook for a couple of minutes after removal from hot grill.
120° F = Rare 130° F = Medium rare 140° F = Medium 160° F = Well done
