October Traditions and Clutter Crime Challenge

What a treat… a Monday that starts the beginning of a new month!

It is October and I am happy to say I am thrilled and full of expectations for a wonderful fall month.  Of course here in southern California someone has forgotten to tell the weather man that it is actually fall.  Los Angeles will be hitting the 108 degree marker and this frightens me, because the pumpkin patches are sure to suffer in that kind of heat.

One of my favorite traditions is a visit to the local pumpkin patch.  However, this year we will be heading out to the patch near my oldest son’s apartment.  It is much larger and has several more activities to enjoy before finding that perfect pumpkin.

What is you favorite October tradition? Do you celebrate Oktoberfest, Halloween or some other tradition? I would love to know and am not opposed to adding more traditions to my list.

For example: I make chili every single Halloween, it is a filling meal and I can add hotdogs to the chili and then just pull them out and add a bun for my little guy’s dinner.

Monday Busy Mom Simple Daily Challenge:

It is Monday and her at Momma Can we fight clutter crime like Mr. Clean fights grime. ( yes, I have a mom crush on Mr. Clean)

Grab your trash bag and your clutter box and lets put away 100 items of clutter in our goal time frame of 10 minutes.  I know it sounds impossible, but that is the fun of it…. legos, Barbie shoes, popcorn bags and coke cans, they all count!

Let’s Get To It Rocking Moms!  And when you are finished enjoy a nice cup of tea or a cold glass of water.

Note: This week we will be cleaning and clutter busting our home office, craft room or extra room.  This will be a busy month as we get ready for the Holiday Clean as You Go Clutter Challenge which kicks off on October 15.

  1. We always go to a pumpkin patch, for a hayride, and apple picking. 🙂 Chili on Halloween sounds like a great tradition, I will have to start that one around here!

    1. I think the Underwood Farms hava a wagon ride. But I have no found a hayride around here. We did apple pickling last year but had to drive a few hours. I am so glad you reminded me, maybe we can see if they are ready out here yet for picking.
